WHAT YOU NEED TO WRITE DOWN TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

Do you want to be by 33% more successful in achieving your goals? Grab yourself a pen and a piece of paper!

Anytime is an opportunity for introspection. Take a notebook and create a list of last year’s main events and consider what went well and identify what could be go even better during the new year. You may find that it has been a year without major changes, but to be happy you need to evolve and progress in every aspect of your life.

“You can create create the life of your dreams and raise your expectations very high, as you deserve.”

Neuroscience has taught us that our expectations affect our performance. What are your expectations for the new year? Setting goals in the following way helps adults and even children achieve higher success levels, as they learn how to be more ingenious and inventive in finding ways to achieve their goals. A 2015 study conducted by the psychologist Gail Matthews has shown that people who wrote down their goals were by 33% more successful in achieving them compared to those only thought of their goals.

The steps to make your best year are the following:

  1. Write down your goals, in such a way as to be:
  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Realistic to be achieved over the defined time
  • Timescaled

For example: “I go to the gym at a specific time three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and take empowerment courses and a Pilates course.”

  1. Write down the reason for wanting to achieve each goal. Make sure you write down all the reasons in detail. Focus on these reasons daily. Most people fail to achieve a goal because they are not strongly motivated or don’t believe in themselves. But if you focus daily on your life after achieving your goals, you will remain motivated.
  2. Create a plan with specific, measurable, realistic and timescaled steps towards your goal. What needs to be done to achieve your goal? Trust me, what people lack to achieve their goals is not available resources (such as time, money etc.), but inventiveness. For example, if you don’t have time to exercise, you can leave your car and commit to walk a specific distance daily.
  3. Write down the potential obstacles to achieving your goal. What may keep you from achieving it? Now, write the realistic steps you are going to take to prevent and overcome these obstacles. Be flexible and inventive.

And the non-written steps:

  1. Find a mentor who has achieved your goal and study the steps he/she took to achieve it. It is very helpful to have someone to inspire you regarding your goal and think that you can make it just like him/her.
  2. Strengthen your faith. From 1 (minimum) – 10 (maximum) how strongly do you believe you will manage to achieve your goal? If your answer is less than ten you need to make it ten. What will strengthen your faith to become 10/10? Write down all the steps that will strengthen your faith.
  3. Commit to manifesting each of your goals. Commitment means that you are going to do what you have said, regardless if you feel like doing it or not. Follow the steps and practices which will lead you to your goal and be sure that you are going to feel extremely satisfied.
  4. Envision your goal daily. Think that you have already achieved it and feel the same way you are going to feel when you will actually achieve it. One of the most effective ways to attract your goal is to use your imagination to create what you wish for in your life.

With your strong willingness to achieve your goals, the right motivation and faith and by following the above steps with discipline and commitment you can make your dreams come true!
